The Shillelagh and District Hunt Branch of the Irish Pony Club was founded in 1964. It's membership comes from South Wicklow/North Wexford and the north east tip of Carlow.
We are delighted to be celebrating our 60th Years of Fun and Activities with our families and friends !!

Run Under IPC Eventing Rules 2024
Saturday 3rd August 2024 By Kind Permission of Tinahely Riding Club Coolboy Co Wicklow Y14DA09.
Course Walk Friday 02 August from 6-8pm.
Please do not arrive later than 7.30pm as gates will shut at 8pm sharp.
Please be aware that results will be updated as the event progresses and will change during the competition.
FINAL RESULTS for each PHASE will be indicated once posted,
ie., when all competitors have completed the phases and any queries submitted within the time allowed have been addressed.
Showjumping
Show Jumping activities in the Shillelagh Pony Club varies from our youngest members jumping small crosspoles to our senior members jumping 1.20m.

Dressage
Basic dressage or flatwork develops your horse’s balance, impulsion and rhythm. It teaches him how to go straight on lines and how to bend on corners.

Eventing
It involves 3 disciplines, Dressage, Showjumping and Cross Country phases - each of which is designed to test the horse’s ability.

Mounted Games
Mounted Games is one of the disciplines of the Pony Club. It is a team competition requiring courage, determination and all-round riding ability on the part of the team members, and the careful and systematic training of their ponies.

Minimus
The Pony Club Minimus provides members with a challenging competition - requiring sound practical horsemanship and general athletic ability. The competition consists of phases: -
MINIMUS - swimming, running and riding.

Minimus / Tetrathlon
The Pony Club Minimus / Tetrathlon provides members with a challenging competition - requiring sound practical horsemanship and general athletic ability. The competition consists of phases: -
TETRATHLON - swimming, riding, running and shooting. Points are awarded for the competitors performance in each phase and the competitor with the most points after the phases is deemed the overall winner of the competition.
